A kinesiology tape is a self-adhesive, elastic textile tape. It is applied to treat or prevent a wide range of different physical aches.

The tape is meant, by lifting the skin, to reduce the pressure exerted onto the nociceptors (pain receptors) and to favour the blood circulation and the lymph drain. That is how healing processes are meant to be encouraged and the damaged zone relieved. Albeit science has not yet confirmed the effect of kinesitherapeutic tapes, many sportsmen, physiotherapists, and private users report on their positive experiences.

This sport tape is versatile. As preventive measure, it might e.g. stabilise a joint to avoid overburdening. In case of urgent aches such as hardened and pulled muscles, the tape can make for the alleviation of your pain. If applied by a competent person, the kinesiotherapeutic tape might even be used to assuage headache, megrim, turgors, and black and blue marks.

The tape is made of an elastic, yet tear-resistant cotton-elastane mixture. The elastic material is permeable to air and humidity. Furthermore, the tape is sweat- and water-resistant and can be worn while taking a shower, while swimming, or while doing sports.

The tape is coated with a hypoallergenic, latex-free adhesive and stays on the skin for up to 7 days. Note: If you suffer from a plaster allergy, the tape should not be applied.

To apply the tape at home, a certain experience is required. Thus, it is advisable that a trained person briefs you about applying the tape correctly. There are also detailed instructions that help you to apply the tape yourself.

Note: The sport tape is not a medical product. Using a kinesiology tape cannot replace a professional consultation with a physician.
