Through the suction opening of the skimmer, water and pollutants in the water are let in, such as leafs, weeds or insects that have dropped into the pool. Everything is collected in the big skimmer basket. The pre-filtered water is then directed to the pump where it is filtered and then fed back to the pool. But even without being connected to a pump, the skimmer collects pollutants from the water surface. Bigger pollutants are caught in the basket and can be removed by hand.
This skimmer should be in every pool as it ensures clean and clear water, collecting any pollutants before these can drop to the bottom of the pool. Thus it also hinders algae to start growing.
Regardless of having an attached pump or not – the skimmer basket should always be cleared regularly to ensure the efficient working of the skimmer.
The skimmer can be used in steel wall pools. If your pool should not have any perforation hole in which the skimmer can be placed, simply use the included gasket as a stencil. By using metals shears and zinc spray (both not included in the delivery), you are able to cut the required hole into the steel walls of the pool and fix the skimmer.
