Besides the spline shaft that has an external or male thread, the sleeves for PTO shaft are the counterpart, having a female or internal thread. The spline saft is slid into this sleeve (also called: PTO shaft adaptor). The teeth or ridges of the spline shaft and the notches of the sleeve engage, preventing the shaft from spinning and allowing for the transmission of the force. The number of notches in the profile of the sleeve is variable. Here, you can purchase sleeves with 6, 20, and 21 notches.
