The smoke alarm uses the photoelectric principle. That is to say that its sensors run optically so that the measuring chamber of the device regularly emits light beams. Under normal conditions – without the presence of smoke –, these beams emitted do not fall onto the lent inside the measuring chamber. If smoke develops, the raising smoke causes diffusion of the beams emitted, and the beams do fall onto the photo lens. Now the smoke detector activates its 85 dB loud alarm sign.
With the test button, you can test the operational condition of the smoke detector. Should the service life of the device run low, there is a regular alarm. Furthermore, this smoke detector conforms to the safety prescriptions and has been certified according to DIN EN 14604: 2005/AC: 2008.
