Normally, plucking chickens by hand can be a time-consuming and tedious task. By using this plucking machine, however, you can save yourself a lot of time and stress. The de-feathering machine is suitable for removing the feathers from chickens, ducks, and light turkeys (total capacity: 4–6 kg). Please note that the machine is not suitable for plucking wild fowl.
The poultry plucker features a 2,000 W motor and a stainless-steel drum, resulting in top efficiency and quality. The drum, with a diameter of 60 cm, is equipped with a built-in water connection and lined with numerous plucking fingers. These fingers come in a special shape and are provided with grooves, so that optimal plucking of the poultry is ensured.
The stainless-steel barrel spins around, in order to optimise the de-feathering process. Water is added and evenly distributed in the drum with the built-in irrigation ring. The combination of fingers, rotation, water and centrifugal force allows a complete removal of the feathers in 20 to 30 seconds. Thanks to the large ejection chute, the feathers are removed easily. The angle of inclination of the ramp has been designed to ensure an ideal sliding of the feathers.
Plucking poultry with this machine, prevents the skin of the birds from being damaged. It is possible to put 2 to 3 birds in the drum at the same time. In this case, it is necessary that you choose poultry with a short fattening period (max. 40 days). This way, up to 3 animals can be processed in one cycle. Heavy fattening animals are excluded, as they are too large for the machine.
Despite the possibility of plucking several animals in one cycle, it is recommended to pluck the birds one after the other. If two birds are de-feathered in the drum at the same time, they could tear their skins with their claws, causing scratches on the skin and meat. This would affect the quality of the poultry. It also increases the risk of bone fractures and bone splinters getting stuck in the meat. To achieve the best plucking quality, each animal should be plucked individually.
The plucking machine is equipped with wheels for easy transport. In addition, it is provided with handles that help you support the machine during transport. This way, the plucking machine can easily moved to where it is needed. Attached to the machine is a base plate that prevents accidental contact with the drive belt.
